1. General information
The protection of your personal data is important to us. This site processes personal data exclusively within the framework of the applicable data protection regulations (GDPR, BDSG, TTDSG). Below you will find an overview of which data we collect and how we use it.
2. Server log files
Like every web server, the web server stores technical access data (IP address, date, requested URL, user agent, referrer) in log files. This data is used exclusively to defend against attacks and to analyse errors and is deleted automatically after 14 days. It is not merged with other data sources. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest in a stable and secure website).
3. Web analytics (Plausible Analytics)
This site uses Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly, self-hosted web analytics software (operated at stats.watch-and-alert.de on our own infrastructure, not a third-party service). Plausible does not use cookies and does not create personal user profiles; only aggregated, anonymous statistics (e.g. page views, country of origin) are collected. The IP address is processed only briefly to recognise a page view and is not stored. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest in anonymised reach measurement).
4. Cookies
This site does not set any tracking or marketing cookies. When you submit forms, a technically necessary session cookie may be set to protect against form abuse (CSRF); it is deleted at the end of the session.
5. Prospect list and contact
If you sign up for the prospect list using the form on the home page or send us a message, we collect your name and your e-mail address. This data is used exclusively to notify you about the release of the book or to process your request, is sent to us by e-mail and is not passed on to third parties. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR (pre-contractual measures) or lit. f (legitimate interest in processing your request). You can withdraw your registration at any time by e-mail to kontakt@watch-and-alert.de.
6. E-book purchase via PayPal
When you buy the e-book, the payment is processed by PayPal. PayPal collects your name, e-mail address and the purchase amount and transmits them to us; we use this data only to process the purchase and to issue the invoice required by law (retention obligation according to § 147 AO). Further information can be found in the PayPal privacy policy.
7. External resources
When you open the e-book purchase page, the PayPal payment SDK is loaded from PayPal servers; your IP address is transmitted to PayPal in the process. Web analytics (see section 3) runs exclusively on our own infrastructure. Beyond that, this site does not embed any fonts, scripts or trackers from third parties.
8. Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and the right to object (Art. 21). You can withdraw any consent you have given at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7 para. 3 GDPR). Please address complaints to the competent supervisory authority.
